St. Jude Showcase Home Kitchen
A showcase kitchen built to be walked through by thousands, and still to work for the family who lives there afterwards.
The kitchen had been designed around school runs and a full table. With the children gone, the room was larger than the routine that remained in it.
Rather than shrink the space, we changed what it was for. The island became somewhere to sit and work as much as to prep, storage was cut back sharply, and the seating moved to face the garden. It is a kitchen for two that still opens up when everyone comes home.
